Aaron Drevlow, Assistant Principal, Stillwater Area High School

Aaron Drevlow is currently one of three assistant principals serving at Stillwater Area High School.  He has been a member of the Stillwater/Woodbury community for the past 15 years and in this time has managed a number of community service oriented projects with students at the Minnesota Business Academy, Great River School and Stillwater Area High School. Aaron worked with Community Thread’s Sara Pennebecker to establish a first in the east metro: the Varsity Letter in Community Service. Aaron is from Anoka, MN and attended University of St. Thomas, Bethel University for his masters in educational leadership and University of Minnesota where he earned his doctorate degree. Aaron lives in Woodbury with his wife and their three children.

Chris Dressel, Past Board President, Senior VP & Chief HR Officer, First State Bank and Trust

Chris holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Catherine University. She also attended the Graduate School of Banking, at the University of Colorado. Additional education includes Advanced Leadership Studies at St. Catherine University, and Leadership Twin Cities. Chris serves as the Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at First State Bank and Trust. She also serves on the Board of Directors for Western Insurance Agency and also on the Board of Directors for Workforce Development in Washington County. Chris, her husband and two children live in West Lakeland Township.

Eric Salman, Physician Assistant, Midwest Spine and Brain Institute

Eric graduated from Iowa State University where he earned a BS in Biology. He attended the Midwestern University Physician Assistant Program and has worked as a PA for 23 years, currently at Midwest Spine and Brain Institute in Stillwater. Eric and his wife Stephanie have one daughter, and live in Stillwater, MN.

Fred Anderson, Board Treasurer, Community Volunteer

Fred earned a Masters of Public Health in Environmental and Infectious Disease Epidemiology from the University of Minnesota, and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire. He worked as an infectious disease epidemiologist for Washington County Department of Public Health and Environment for nearly 32 years. Over his career, he served on several boards and committees, including the Lakeview Hospital Infection Control Committee, and the American Red Cross. His international volunteer experience includes three community health services trips to rural Tanzania. Fred and his wife Renae live in the Stillwater area and they have two grown daughters.

Gina Zeuli, Summer Park Activity Coordinator for City of Oak Park Heights

Gina attended the College of St. Thomas and graduated with a degree in social work. After working in adolescent group homes and as a domestic violence victim advocate and counselor, she chose to become a stay at home mom. This choice led to years of volunteering at area schools, PTAs, VAA athletics, church programs, and the City of Oak Park Heights. Gina currently works for the City of Oak Park Heights as the Summer Park Activity Coordinator. She also serves on several city committees. Gina lives in Oak Park Heights with her husband and their three daughters.

James P. Schoenecker, Regional Vice President, Strategic Insurance Agency Alliance

Jim is a graduate of Bethel College where he earned a BA in Business Management. He currently works as the Regional Vice President at the Strategic Insurance Agency Alliance (SIAA), an insurance agency network. Jim and his wife Melissa have three children and live in Hudson, WI.

Josiah Hill, President, St. Croix Education Association

Josiah earned a BA in English at UW, Madison and attended UW, River Falls for his masters in secondary education and Hamline University for his doctorate degree in educational leadership. For the past 20 years, he has taught high school English and for the past 10 years has served as the President of the St. Croix Education Association. Josiah and his wife Emily have three children and live in Stillwater, MN.

Julie Swedback, Swedback Law, PLLC

Julie graduated from the College of St. Benedict with a degree in Humanities and earned her law degree from William Mitchell College of Law. She is a solo practitioner attorney whose legal experience spans 25 years. Her current practice focuses primarily on family law, and her past experience includes clerking at the Minnesota Court of Appeals, representing the State of Minnesota as an assistant attorney general, and working as a senior attorney for a nonprofit student loan guaranty agency.

Rachael Kozlowski, VP of Operations, DemandQuest Marketing

Rachael Kozlowski is an experienced marketing executive with consulting, training and project management experience. She is the VP of Operations at DemandQuest Marketing Institute in Minneapolis, which offers training in marketing and advertising. She is Google AdWords & Google Analytics certified. Rachael is originally from St. Paul, MN and attended UW-Madison and the American Musical & Dramatic Academy in Manhattan. She is a classically trained professional actress who has performed Off-Broadway in New York as well as in San Francisco, Minneapolis, Charlotte, Buenos Aires (Argentina), Mobile and Madison. She currently lives in Stillwater with her husband and two daughters.

Renae Pominville, Board Secretary, Personal Banking Officer, Lake Elmo Bank

Renae is a graduate of Stillwater High School and Century College. Her volunteer experience includes St. Michaels Church as chair of the hospitality committee, the Stillwater Project Life Center, Knights of Columbus, and Relay for Life; she has also served as a Girl Scout Troup leader. Renae currently works at Lake Elmo Bank as a Personal Banking Officer. She represents the bank at Boutwell’s Landing, providing notary services after normal business hours for nursing home and other senior residents. She was awarded the Tradition of Service Award by Lake Elmo Bank for her customer service in 2012. Renae and her husband Mark live in Stillwater and have two daughters.

Richard McDonough, RM Realty

Richard earned a BS in Fine and Studio Arts from UW, River Falls. He has been a realtor for 28 years, opening RM Realty in 2018 which proudly supports the schools, nonprofits and local business community through a video series that they produce. Richard lives with his wife Mimi in Stillwater, MN.

Ruth Hjelmgren, Board President, Director of Community Outreach, Artis Senior Living

Ruth is a graduate of Stillwater High School, Hamline University (BA) and Antioch University (MA). She attended The Neighborhood Playhouse in NYC and has experience on stage and screen. Her board and volunteer work include St. Paul Public Schools, United Hospital, Minnesota Boys Choir, The Oratorio Society, church committees and Healing Haiti. Ruth currently works as the Director of Community Outreach at Artis Senior Living, an assisted living residence with a special focus on Alzheimer’s and related memory disorders. She also developed the “Silver Group” at Jay T. Sold Me, a real estate team she co-owns with her husband. She and Jay Theriault live in Maplewood and have two children.

Samantha Schindler, Scientific Project Manager, DiaSorin

Samantha is a graduate of UW, River Falls with a BS in Biotechnology. She is a Scientific Project Manager at DiaSorin. Samantha has volunteered extensively for Community Thread in addition to Valley Outreach, Feed my Starving Children, MN Academy of Science and Success Beyond the Classroom. She lives in White Bear Lake, MN.

Sarah Stivland, Community Volunteer

Sarah has a B.A. in Secondary Social Studies Education from St. Olaf College. Her volunteer work includes serving on the Stillwater Area School Board, a position that she intends to pursue again in 2020. Sarah and her husband created Bluestone Physician Services, a workforce of nearly 300 people, located in Stillwater.

Sharon King, Board Vice President, Director of Financial Shared Services, Andersen Corporation

Sharon has a BS in accounting from Metropolitan State University and a MBA from Cardinal Stritch University. She is also a graduate of the Executive Development Center at the University of Minnesota. Her volunteer work includes Community Thread (Holiday Hope), Junior Achievement, Habitat for Humanity, Bethlehem Lutheran Church and the United Way of Washington County. Sharon currently works at Andersen Corporation where she is the Director of Financial Shared Services, overseeing fiscal policies, programs and transactions in 12 distinct operations. She and her husband Patrick Deuschle live in Maplewood and have one son.

Terry Mistalski, Healthcare Solutions Pro

Terry attended Wayne State University. He currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer of Digital Dental Solutions and previously held leadership positions at Medivators (endoscopy equipment and related products and services) and Ecolab. Terry has extensive sales, marketing and business development experience. Terry is a 25 year resident of the St. Croix Valley with impressive volunteer experience. Terry is passionate about identifying and providing local services and support to people in need, to help them maintain healthy, safe and dignified lives. Terry and his husband Daryl live in Marine-on-St-Croix.
