FEATURED ACTIVITIES & EVENTS
Navigating Grief & Loss
Monday, April 13: 2:00 – 3:00 PM
Grief and loss touch all of our lives in different ways, often when we least expect it. In this class, you’ll learn about common reactions to grief, explore personal strengths to better cope, and discover resources to support yourself and others. As part of the session, create a “memory lantern” to take home as a meaningful symbol of remembrance and healing.
*FREE AND OPEN TO ALL!
Compassion Resilience: Sustaining Care, Embracing Well-Being
Monday, April 27: 2:00 – 3:00 PM
Caring for others – whether in your family, community, or daily work – can be deeply meaningful, but it can also leave you drained. In this session, participants will explore what compassion resilience means, recognize signs of compassion fatigue, and learn practical strategies and boundaries to protect their energy. You’ll also discover tools to build a personal reservoir of wellness to help navigate life’s challenges.
*FREE AND OPEN TO ALL!
Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) Suicide Gatekeeper Training
Thursday, April 23: 3:00 – 4:30 PM
You don’t need to be a professional to save a life. This training empowers you to become a “gatekeeper” – someone in a position to recognize a crisis and intervene. In just a few hours, you will identify the warning signs of suicide, offer hope, and provide a crucial bridge to professional help. The simple, three-step method is Question, Persuade, and Refer (QPR), and just like CPR, it’s an emergency response that anyone can learn.
Community Thread invites you to an informative session with Susannah Torseth, Attorney at Law at Galowitz, Olson PLLC, and Community Thread board member. Susannah will walk attendees through the essentials of Power of Attorney and Health Care Directives—what they are, why they matter, and how to document your wishes with confidence.
Don’t miss this opportunity to learn, ask questions, and gain peace of mind about planning for the future.
*FREE and OPEN TO ALL!
