Washington County Flood Response

Community Thread is leading volunteer efforts for flood response in partnership with Washington County Emergency Management.

In past flood emergencies, many St. Croix Valley cities approached Community Thread to assist with volunteer recruitment and management for flood response activities. As the only volunteer center in the area, Community Thread is able to provide a great deal of support and will coordinate these efforts.

Please follow the Washington County Flood Response Facebook page to learn important details about volunteer opportunities and ways to assist with flood response in cities throughout Washington County.

Homeowner Support

New this year, Community Thread will assist with volunteer recruitment efforts for homeowners in need. This support will be provided on a first-come first-serve basis and is based on volunteer availability.

Homeowner Requirements

  • Homeowners must provide all supplies needed. This includes sand, sandbags, shovels, etc.
  • Proof of Homeowners Insurance is required. This information is collected in the request form. All information will be kept confidential and will not be shared with volunteers.
  • Every homeowner requesting assistance must complete a homeowner volunteer request form. Homeowners will receive a confirmation email once the form is submitted.
